OVERVIEW
Storage limitation on Microsoft's Xbox One was one of the number one key issue's among users and publishers. The shipped version of the console has an internal drive limited to 500GB (~370 after system install). Approximately 12 full-sized video games would fill up that remaining space.

PROBLEM
With the increasing number of games, both in size and offerings, there was an immediate need to solve the storage issue. Microsoft also wanted to reward their user base with a solution that would allow them to plug & play any of their games or apps on another Xbox One console.

APPROACH
I had to ramp up on a project were 90% of the existing team had 2+ years familiarity with the console & it's design structure. I worked closely with seasoned cross-functional teams to help develop stories, scenarios, sketches and wireframes; solving for Minimum Viable Product and edge case uses.

RESULTS
The June 2014 Xbox One update was met with critical success from users and press alike. There are over 30 professionally published articles praising its pre- and post-launch, including sites like Forbes, Times and CNET. There are also over 1500+ Reddit forum threads relating to all the details and affordability of the External Storage feature.
